In the midst of big data technologies learning, many come across the world “Enterprise Data”. In this post will try to provide high level view of what it is.
Firstly, within an enterprise there will be multiple businesses (like say in HealthCare enterprise, business departments like P Health Care Plans, Claims, Doctors/Specialties Management, Collections, Locations Management, R&D and so on). But, if we carefully observe all these departments will be managing core business domain entities including HealthCare Plan, Member (or Patient), Provider (or Doctor), Claim, and Location.
Integration
In the context of Enterprise Data, it means “integrating” the data from those departments into a centralized data repository.
Data Organization
Once the enterprise data is integrated or collected from across the departments, then it is subdivided into various categories based on standards, business processes, and other business needs.
